Tim Compton
Tim’s extraordinary guitar mastery has propelled him from humble origins in Rock Island, Illinois. to grace the world’s most renowned studios/stages in his long recording and touring career. His tenure as guitarist for the band Mariah landed him in special company as he co-authored material with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Tim’s love affair for the guitar, his perfection and relentless dedication to his craft is widely known.
Present day finds Tim releasing his first solo album of acoustic masterpieces worthy of inclusion on any Grammy award winning or nomination list. This is one mans journey of a lifetime delivered to the listener from within the framework of beautiful, haunting acoustic guitar compositions.
These timeless, image evoking gems weave a broad journey through various cultures and time as Tim visits six, twelve, and nylon string acoustic guitars, lap steel, mandolin, dobro, slide and banjo. Making stops along the way in Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, Classical, Flamenco, and New Age among other genres, this is an album as wide in scope as it’s laser point focus on composition, precision, execution, and heart felt soul delivery. Clearly this is a very special man making very special music.
Tim’s melodic sensibilities, unique chord inversions, original finger picking styles and arrangements are sometimes complex, sometimes open and airy but always world class, memorable, mood inducing and thought provoking.
This is a pivotal work to be embraced and studied by any aficionado of the acoustic guitar. This is a work for all cultures and all ages. Rough and Tumble Entertainment is thrilled to be a part of Tim’s continuing musical explorations. Listen to the music!
